A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday January 2, 2015 at Vaughn Park Church of Christ in Montgomery. Mrs. Young was born December 14, 1926, in Plains, GA. She graduated from Smithville (GA) High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. She lived most of her adult life in Albany, GA where she taught in the public schools for 25 years. Mrs. Young moved to Montgomery in 2007.
She was an active member of the Beattie Road Church of Christ in Albany and of the Vaughn Park Church of Christ in Montgomery.
Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter Truddy (Al) Hutchison of Rossville, GA, her son Ben Jr. (Nancy) of Montgomery, her grandchildren Heather (Ali) Sonmez, Hope (Allen) Wong, Sarah (Neil) Gilliland, and Ben Young III, 6 great grandchildren, and her brother Burrell (Edith) W. Thomas, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Young, Sr.
