Tigner Swain Zorn

Zorn, Tigner Swain, 83, a resident of Wetumpka, AL died in his home February 28, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Grady Zorn and Frances Bussey Zorn of Ashburn, GA; brothers Elmer Zorn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and James Osgood Zorn of Ashburn, GA. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Zorn; daughter, Latrelle Zorn Wilson (Jerry) of Deatsville, AL and Robin Zorn Gaines (Greg) of Ft. Riley, KS; brother, Earl Zorn of Thomasville, GA; two granddaughters, Teresa Williams and Staci Maynard; great-grandchildren, Kari Cates, Alex and Jonah Maynard; stepsons, Mitchell Dailey (Kelley), Phillip Dailey (Nancy), Braxton Dailey (Nicole); stepdaughter, Leslie York (Bud); and eight step-grandchildren, Jeremy Mitchell, Scott Mitchell, Tim Dailey, Daniel Ferrell, Nickolas York, Emma Grace York, Jack Dailey, and Sullivan Dailey. Mr. Zorn served in the US Air Force for eight years during the Korean War, went to the University of Georgia studying pre-med and graduating with a degree in Hospital Administration. He moved to Montgomery in 1957 to accept employment with the Alabama State Department of Public Health, Division of Licensure and Certification and retired in 1984 as Director of that division. Upon retirement he took great pleasure in gardening and working on vintage automobiles. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 4, 2010, 2:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Leak-Memory Chapel.
