

Tyro Brown (69), long-time resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died on July 21, 2022. Tyro was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, one of four children of Harold Brown and Alma Davis Brown. After four years at the prestigious Pine Forge Academy, where he was a star athlete (basketball) and graduated, he went on to join the Air Force. While on assignment in Rome, Italy, Tyro met his future wife, Anna Donati. Anna and Tyro married in 1982 and moved to Vandenberg, California, where Tyro received a Bachelor of Business Administration from La Verne University and played semi-professional racquetball, winning several tournaments and championships. Over the course of three decades, Tyro’s career moved him and his family to Naples, Italy to serve with NATO and later to Montgomery, Alabama, where he later retired from Maxwell Airforce Base with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). He continued his career, working on Maxwell as a Civilian Administrator in Logistics. Tyro loved to take care of his garden, enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, and to plan elaborate meals with his wife, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Tyro is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Alma Brown. He is survived by his wife Anna Brown, daughter Tina and sons Eduardo and Sean. By his sisters Theresa Anderson (Samuel), Loretta Brown and brother Don Brown, along with numerous cousins.
Family and friends are cordially invited to the funeral service at Leak Memory Chapel - 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. The service will begin at 10:00 am with a Military Honor’s presentation to commence at 10:30 am on July 29, 2022, which is Tyro’s 70th birthday.
Tyro’s family would like to express our gratitude to all his caregivers at Jackson Hospital, friends, and coworkers at Maxwell Airforce Base.
