
Virgilia Catherine (Schroeder) Oetlinger, 95, member of St. Bede Catholic Church, passed away on January 1, 2014. She was born in Richfield, Wisconsin on September 9, 1918 and married the love of her life, Lester F. Oetlinger on August 10, 1942 enjoying 71 years of marriage. Lester preceded her in death on December 5, 2013. Also preceding her in death was her beloved daughter, Joan (Stibbe) Oetlinger. She is survived by her sister, Mae Bedrosian of Fresno, CA; children, Mary Coles (Dan), Carol Feller, Frank Oetlinger (Barbara), Joseph Oetlinger (Jan), Paul Oetlinger, Ruth (Tony) Glenboski and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Virgilia took great pride in being a loving wife, mother, and grandparent. While raising her family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin she was a very active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a faithful board member of the Christian Women's Association, Christian Mothers Society, Altar Society, and the Home and School Association. In 1979 they retired to Tucson, Arizona and then later moved to Montgomery, AL to be closer to family.Funeral Services will be held at Saint Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Highway. The family will receive guests in the St. Bede Parish Hall (behind the church) Sunday, January 5, 2014 beginning at 6:15pm and ending with a Rosary at 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Bede Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Arensburg officiating.
