
Virginia Guy Bryant, 80, a resident of Prattville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2016. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Virginia was the daughter of Lurie and Ada Jacks Guy. Born in Beat 14, Elmore County, and raised in Tallassee, Virginia was retired from the State of Alabama for 23 years as Director of the Alabama Peace Officers Annuity Fund. Virginia was predeceased by her sisters Mary Esco, Mildred Gilliland, and Vyra Sumner. She is survived by her husband, Jim, Prattville; one daughter, Barbara Pierce (Norman), Alex City; two sons, Keith Bryant (Rachel), Tuscaloosa, and David Bryant (Ashley), Nacogdoches, Texas. She is survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Nicole Pierce, Tuscaloosa; Alec Pierce, Germany; Will and Charlie Bryant, Tuscaloosa; Aaron Bryant, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Alice Bryant, Jackson, Mississippi; Lindley and Sydney Bryant, Nacogdoches, Texas; Emilia and Henry Pierce, Germany. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother: Claire Hammock, Prattville; June Stearnes, Prattville; Carl Guy (Lynn), Alabaster. Flowers accepted, but memorial gifts may be given to Montgomery Primitive Baptist Church, 2831 Old Selma Rd., Montgomery, AL, 36108. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. David Bryant and Elder Steve Milner officiating. The burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. The family will begin to accept friends from 12-2:00 PM, prior to the service.
