Wayne Mitchell

Mr. Edward Wayne Mitchell, 75,passed away January 22, 2021 at Baptist East Hospital in Montgomery, Al. Wayne was born April 13,1945, the son of James Andrew Mitchell and Fannie Lou Nichols Mitchell of Roanoke, AL. He was of the Methodist faith, and had worked over 30 years as a tool and die maker and shop foreman at Ampex in Opelika, Al as well as National Industries in Montgomery and Quality Network in Wetumpka.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sudduth Mitchell, a son, Dennis Mitchell and a daughter Kelley Denise George (husband - Michael George) and one grandson, Tristan George- all of Montgomery. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters Annie Maude Dean, Eula Mae Young, Maureen Barber, Dovie Cummings and JoAnn Moon, four brothers Junior, Pete, Johnny, and Robert Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life Service for Wayne Mitchell will be held on Thursday, January 28th at 2:00pm. preceded by a 1:00pm visitation at Leak Memory Chapel. Rev Mike McKinight will be officiating.
