Wilma Brakefield Vines

Wilma was born April 21, 1944. She was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Belva (Benton) Brakefield of Louisville, KY.

She attended Robert E. Lee High School and graduated from Auburn University of Montgomery. Wilma was a proud member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and she loved history and wrote a lot of school papers for her family. She spent a majority of her life in service and retired from the State of Alabama. She will be sorely missed.

Wilma was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Brakefield, and her former husband and father of their child, David J. Vines.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Seitzinger (Jeff); her granddaughter, Christina Olson; her great-granddaughters, Rylee, Maddie, and Baylee; and her sisters, Wanda Faust, Susan Brakefield, and Mary Brakefield; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilma’s memory to the Humane Society of Elmore County.

A visitation for Wilma will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 at 1:45 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A parlor memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
