

Winnie Mae Burt Phillips passed away early in the morning on Thursday, November 15, 2018, after a long illness. She was born in Needmore, Alabama in 1933. Winnie was named after the first transcontinental airmail airplane, the Winnie Mae. She married the late Bill Burt and had 2 children, Terri and Mark. Winnie worked over 20 years with South Central Bell. After Bill’s death she married LaDon Phillips of Ozark, Alabama, and resided in Montgomery until her death.
She is survived by her husband, LaDon Phillips; her daughter, Terri Burt Eubanks (William, III); her grandchildren, Jennifer Eubanks Ames (Dan) and Christopher Cody Eubanks; her great grandchild, Beau Hunter Ames, her step grandchild, Tommy Eubanks (Misty) and their child, Jonathan Eubanks; and her nephew, Larry Webb. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Laurie Phillips Grantham (Jeff) and their children Sara, Jack, and Elizabeth Grantham.
Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Burt; her son, William Mark Burt; her sister, Mavis Webb; and her brother, Nathan Croford.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Greenwood Serenity Gardens with Rev. Art Long officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the Phillips home, 701 Eliza Place, Montgomery from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society in memory of Winnie Phillips.
