Zola Bell Stokes was born on Jan 28 1933 in Greensboro, Al and moved to Tuscaloosca before eventually residing in the Montgomery area in 1966. She passed away at her residence on Sunday April 17 surrounded by her loving family. Zola enjoyed being a loving wife and homemaker, sewing crafts and as a Pink Lady Volunteer with St Margarets. She was a member of Morningview and Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years W.K. Stokes Jr ;a daughter Debbie Stokes ; parents Houston and Willie Morrison Tidmore; sister Mary E. Tidmore; brothers Carey Tidmore, Wayne Tidmore, Bob Tidmore, Pat Tidmore, Houston (Bubba) Tidmore ; one son in law Brother Beaird. She is survived by a son William Stokes and wife Jill ; daughters Gail Green and husband Lou and Susie Beaird; grandchildren Natalie Perry, Rachel Johnson, Riley Stokes, Elizabeth Mainor, Will Norris; great grandchildren Avery Johnson, Liam Perry, Jacob and Rebekah Mainor Great- Great grandchildren; Liam, Knox ,Rory, and Penelope Norris.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday April 22, 10am at Greenwood Serenity Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to First Choice formerly known as Save A Life of Montgomery, Al.
