Born in Budapest in 1928, Dr. Rona fled Hungary during the 1956 communist revolution, and was welcomed in Halifax with her physician husband and two small children. They settled in Montreal.
Dr. Agnes Rona trained in pathology at McGill University and practiced medicine at St. Mary’s, Royal Victoria, and Lakeshore General Hospitals. She raised two children with the help of their grandmothers.
Predeceased by her husband Dr. George Rona, and by subsequent long term companion M.
