Almerinda Costa Tavares Araujo

With heavy hearts, we share the peaceful passing of our much loved mother Almerinda Costa Tavares Araujo of Porto Formoso, São Miguel, Açores on March 2, 2025 surrounded by family in her home in Montréal, Qc.

Almerinda is predeceased by her loving husband, Antonio Araujo, her parents and eight siblings. Almerinda’s love and devotion will forever be remembered by her sister Alexandrina, her children Armenia (Louis), Laura (Randy), Tony (Jill), Jimmy (Lynn), and Robert (Annie), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jesse (Christel), Amanda (Jonathan), Adam (Sean), Joshua (Katelyn), Denise (Dave), Caleb (Lea), Jeff (Natasha), Emily, Trevor, Emilia, and Veronika. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Hailey, Maya, Skylar, Noah, Selah, Benjamin and Benjamin.

Almerinda was a woman whose spirit touched everyone she encountered. Her infectious laugh, her generosity, and her incredible strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Sunday family gatherings, the warm greetings from neighbors as they passed her home, and the visits from grown children she cared for in the past brought her so much joy. These precious memories will be cherished in our hearts forever, a constant reminder of the love and light she brought into our lives.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at the CLSC who came to the home to assist in her care and doctor Dr.N.M. Benoit for her constant support which enabled Almerinda to stay in her home surrounded by family and friends.
