Predeceased by his mother Verna (Patterson) LaCouvee, his father Lewis LaCouvee and his sister Penelope (late Ted) Kruse. He is survived by sisters Joan (late Vernon) Coffin and Elizabeth (late Klaus) Tewes.
Barry retired from Standard Life of Canada in 2000 after a distinguished career of 37 years. During retirement he was an active volunteer at the Atwater Library, as well as a passionate Bridge player. He treasured his summer months at his cottage in the Eastern Townships along with his annual trips to Gaspe.
We are comforted by thoughts of Barry once again sitting in his favorite chair with Sally and Max by his side, while reading a cat caper mystery. His passion for his fur babies was only superseded by his faith.
He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Private cremation will take place in Montreal.
Funeral service and interment of ashes will be held during the Summer of 2025 at Gaspe, Que.
