Dear Harold,
I met your mother through Cursillo in 1978, when we were all a lot younger. She was a special friend to many because of all she gave to those she met.
I left Montreal in 1983 and would always try to see Erika when I came back to visit.
I hope that your memories of her will sustain you. I also remember your father, Hans. They were a special couple.
My sincerest condolences on this terrible loss. God bless you.

I so miss my weekly chats with one of my dearest friends Erika. We met at the Thomas More Institute where she was a brilliant student particularly with our guru master Gert Morgenstern in the Psychiatry for the Layman series held at the Douglas Hospital. Music was a vital sustainer of these courses as well as in Erika's life. Erika received a comprehensive certificate on transfigured history for her work there in 2002 where she continued to wield her incisive mind for several decades. Thereafter enticing me with tickets she managed to enlist me as a member of the German choir where I had to learn to speak German sometimes understand the rather colorful folksongs. She was a steadfast promotor of the choir and enthusiastic community celebrant especially of member birthdays. She and I travelled to several concerts and other little ventures that will remain cherished memories.

To our loving Erika,
Thank you for all the lovely moments of laughter over delicious meals, playing cards with a glass of wine while my dad took a nap. Great memories!! Your ability to just listen and be supportive through all the rough times was priceless. Thanks for all the joy you brought to our lives. May you find all the peace you’ve earned.

My sincere condolences to Harold.

Patricia

Erika was a wonderful and beautiful lady inside and out who Bob and I were fortunate enough to know through his parents.
They were childhood friends growing up together in Austria all making their way here to Canada where they remained friends forever.
I remember one time in my younger years bumping into Erika at my work. She was there for a business meeting (looking very professional) with her colleagues from the Bank of Montreal to meet with the big bosses. When I saw her, I jumped up from my desk ran over and gave her a big hug and kiss.
At that moment I realized that was a big faux-pas!
I could tell by the look on her face she was totally embarrassed.(But I think deep down she was smiling!)
Oh such good memories.

Our deepest condolences to her son Harold Romwalter.
Rest in peace dear Erika

Dear Mr. Romwalter,

We at the Thomas More Institute are saddened to hear of your mother's passing. We remember fondly her contributions to Thomas More both as a student in classes (she earned a Comprehensive Certificate at Thomas More) and as a discussion leader in courses at our Atwater campus and in the Seniors Outreach Program at Maison Desaulniers. She is remembered for her intelligence, kindness, and generosity. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Carol Fiedler, Chair, Board of Directors at the Thomas More Institute

Harold,
So sorry to hear the news of your mom.
