Giuseppe Maria Sama

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our most precious and beloved father Giuseppe Maria Sama. Cherished and adored husband of 60 years of Caterina Anania.

Giuseppe was born in Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, Calabria, Italy, son of the late Giuseppe Sama and the late Caterina Mongiardo.

He will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered by his devoted children Pino, Lucia (Peter Paraskevopoulos), Adriana (Steven Doré) and Bruno, his adoring grandchildren Patrizia, Karina and Sasha, his sisters Antonietta (late Nicola Commodari), Sisina (Enio Frustaci) and Pierina (Francesco Frustaci), his brother Andrea (Nella Gagliardi), his brother-in-law,

sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews with their respective families, relatives, and friends both in Canada and Italy.

Giuseppe’s greatest accomplishment and pride was his adoring family. Recognized for his unassuming patriarchal role, exercised with much humility, unselfishly and with profound love. Complete devotion to his family, while imparting deeply rooted family values.

His memory will live on in the lives of all those he touched and inspired.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and on Friday, January 17 from 10h30 a.m. to 11h30 a.m.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 17 at 12 p.m. at Notre-Dame-de-la Défense Church

Avenue 6800 Henri-Julien, followed by his final resting place at the Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges Cemetery in the Esther-Blondin Mausoleum.
