Jacqueline DaCosta née Wiggan

With grieving hearts, we announce that our beloved Jacqueline (Jackie) DaCosta, née Wiggan,

passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022 at the age of 93. Jackie was born in St.

Elizabeth, Jamaica, the eldest daughter of Harry and Gwendolyn Wiggan. She is loved and will

be dearly missed by her children, Heather (Jerome), Andrew Brian, and Allison; her grandchildren Theon, Shaina (Mark), Jamaal (Amanda), Malaina (Dion), Sasha, and Malik; and

great-grandchildren. She is also survived and will be missed by her siblings Everard (Kathleen),

Sonia, and Pauline (Winston); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada, USA,

and Jamaica. In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her brothers, Vernon, Eddie, and Lauriston; sister, Elaine; and brother-in-law, Geff.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 13 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to

9:00 pm at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, QC

H3V 1E7. The celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Monday, March 14 at 11:00 am at the

Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges.

Jackie began her career in nursing at the Winnipeg General Hospital (now, Health Sciences

Centre) and later worked at the Montreal Children’s Hospital from which she retired after nearly

20 years of service. In lieu of flowers and in memory of her tremendous love and care for

children, donations to World Vision Canada or UNICEF Canada would be appreciated.
