(1925-2021)

Entered into eternal life Feb 7, 2021 to join the love of his life Helen Kelly (nee Vickers), their sons Mickey, Jimmy & daughter Maureen. In 1942, aged 17, Ken joined the Canadian “Corvette” Navy, serving 3 years of active duty as a gunner, destroying German U- boats in the North Atlantic; a Battle rarely discussed & never recognized in the dominant Anglo-American literature!

Helen & Ken raised a family in Westmount, Quebec, then retired to a full life in Waltham, Quebec on the Ottawa River before returning back to Montréal in 2009, where he had been born to George Patrick Kelly & Janet Ann McMaster. He is also predeceased by siblings Hughena (Bunny) Holland, Patrick, Catherine & Gordon. He is survived by daughter Colleen, son Dean, & siblings Cameron (Karen) & Evelyn. Grandfather to Camille Kelly, Vincent & Wesley Paterson, Michael & Sarah Kelly-Baker & great grandfather to Cassius Paterson.

Due to public health considerations, no funeral will take place. Online condolences will be received at www.dignitequebec.com with Collins, Clarke, MacGillivray, White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke West, Montréal, Quebec H4A 1W5.

The Kelly family is very grateful to caregivers Johnny Walker, Tara May & Jackie Hall.

Dean, you look just like him. And I'm very glad I got to meet him and your mom! I can only try to ease the pain of losing him by expressing how much I feel for you and extend my full support. It is already hard to mourn a loved one, let alone during COVID. Camille, Dean and Colleen, you suffer in silence and know that I'm there for you. My condoleances to all the family. May your memories bring some solace.

A long time ago I spent a wonderful year working with George and visiting his family. These pictures brought back some fond memories of those days. It seems like life wasn't so complicated back then and that was a good thing. George was a great guy to work or have a beer with and he will be missed.
