In a short period of time I got to know Mr. and Ms. Monticciolo it was a little difficult to get into their lives but with my love, my implication and my sense of caring I conquered their hearts in only a year.

Those days and nights at the hospital, helping and trying to get you comfortable, helped us to get to know each other. I met an extraordinary man, an extraordinary father and husband.
I will remember and cherish all those moments, especially, when you enjoyed my cooking. You always gave me compliments of my dishes, your favourite plate, Peruvian Style Fish.

I thank you for having welcomed and accepted me into your family and treating me as a family member, like a daughter.

You are now in a peaceful place, taking care of people you love and love you.

I will miss you...I already miss you.


Eulogy speech

For you dad, and for those who were not able to attend the funeral of June 25, 2019.

What's a father? It's not the gifts he buys you or the material things in life.

It starts from the moment he holds you in his arms and caresses you. Those late nights taking care of you when you couldn’t sleep or that you were feeling ill. Step by step, day by day, from bringing you to your first day of daycare, elementary and high school, and guiding you through those formative years of childhood and a teenager, then to embark to College and University and thus once finished to start your life as a man and a family man.

All this made possible by a man of strength, a man of honor, a man of strength, a man of honor, Mariano Monticciolo, my dad, son of Vincenzo Monticciolo and Caterina Manno.

My dad, a man who worked seven days a week, from Monday to Friday, working 14 hour days and on weekends working to repair his truck, day in day out for 35 years to provide for his family; i.e.: my mother, my brother and myself, these actions are that of a man of strength, a man of honor.

My dad was not a man of many words, but his actions spoke louder than words, after all, there’s a proverb that states “do not judge a man by his words, but do so by his actions.”

I will be forever grateful for what he did for myself and the patience he had as I was growing up. After many mistakes in life, he never gave up on me.

Til the end, my dad was a fighter, he always fought and fought and fought. My dad will always be in my heart and although he’s not physically with us anymore, I know he’s taking care of us.

My dad is now with his dad, mother, brothers and sister yet once again looking after us.

This is not a goodbye, but a celebration and tribute to your life and your passage to God and in closing until I/we see each other once again, dad we love you, I love you.

A man of few words, but many generous gestures. 

A man who loved to work with his hands, to create, and share.

A man who demonstrated honour for those he loved, and left behind.

A man  whom his children, and  gentle grandchildren miss dearly, and look forward to reuniting with one day.

Yesterday, we bid you arrivederci, until the day our families will be reunited once more again.

With all my sincere sympathy for you, 
Mrs. Monticciolo, and your wonderful family. 
I will never forget the days spent at the Jewish Hospital, with my husband Paul, sharing the room of your husband and you arriving every day with good food that you were always sharing with us. 
You are a wonderful person and I hope that you will now take care of yourself and move in a nice little appartment, in a residence, with security, no stairs and work to do, like me now. 
I will never forget you, your sons and family.
I wish you good health and courage for all the days coming.
