Dear Marlene,

This brings me deep sadness that I only found out recently of your passing. You were an angel from heaven......I am honored to have shared some time with you and joked alot and you always had words of wisdom.

You were a passionate soul that cared so much about everyone. I missed our coffee meetings we use to talk about life and laugh. When I moved to Miami it was not the easiest to keep in touch yet we still managed to touch base......as you use to say James i'm calling to touch base.We had many laughs together on your balcony listening to the crickets and smelling the fresh summer breeze.

I was your mom's neighbor we met on Buena Vista. I only wish I could have gotten to know her 2 beautiful daughters better.  

Marlene you will forever be in my heart and soul. You were a beautiful person inside and out. As I write this I feel your presence and know your soul is watching out for your loved ones.

Always and forever you will be in my memory 

God bless you and I will see you one day and we will one day understand the true meaning of this life we left.

It is with shock that I express our deepest condolences on the loss of your mom (and sister). I am in Ste. Agathe and just learned yesterday  of her recent passing. We have such fond memories of our summer visits with you and your family next door. (I still return every summer with my girls.)  Losing my mom, we treasure all those summer memories even more.

Dear Julia and Andrea.  I was out of town when your mother passed away and only learned of this today.  Please accept my sincere sympathies.  She was a lovely person.  Linda Frajman (Ashley kandestin's mother).

Marlene was my idol when i was young,being friends with Francis, we would go over to the D'Iorio home, and Marlene's beauty, style, humor, and especially dancing would mesmerize us all. Always sweet and kind, and very graceful. She taught us to groove to motown music and was our gaurdian too. Haven't seen her since I was 13, and was saddened to hear she left so young. Marlene I salute you for all the beauty and grace you brought to the world. My sympathies to you all.

Marlene and I were friends in the Goose Village.  We were about  9-10 years old at the time.  Marlene and I also were related as her Grandmother Generosa was my Aunt. We used to play for that short time we had together because the Goose Village was demolished to make way for EXPO 67. What I remember and her face comes to my memory was that Marlene  -  giggled and laughed.   I can't remember conversations but  I do remember – the laughing and the giggling!  O, what joyful memories to remember the laughing and the giggling!  I'd like to think that Marlene is still laughing and giggling up in Heaven!

I'm in great shock learning just yesterday in the passing of your Mom. I will treasure great memories of our time spent together at The Study and the Y. She always spoke so fondly about you both, you were her pride and joy.  My very deepest sympathies, you will be in my prayers.

MY deepest and most heart-felt condolences go out to you, Truly! God! I so miss your Mom! Your Sister!
Marlene was like by childhood friend but that I only met when we were adults. My ‘buddy' and I shared so much about our lives that it felt just like we were very dear and old friends, confidants & the best of pals, but without any of the usual catches.  We somehow ended up as frequent Saturday Supper pals too and enjoyed catching up, sharing dinner and some wine, and just stepping out of life's requirements and burden's to spend some time with a dear friend and just be ourselves. Over 30 times a year, in fact! It was a lovely & warm, easy going & positive ritual too!   How often my buddy listened, and how often I heard all about the family - that when I met them, it was like I knew them already.   & Marlene was so proud of Andrea & Julia, I would hear all about how excellent each of her very special daughters are!
 A few months ago, in a nice buzz of a flowing conversation at our usual & Saturday supper together, dear Marlene caught me smiling and said “What David, What?” and I replied, “You really simply slipped into my life slowly without any resistance and over such a long time knowing each other.  I suddenly realized – it's been years – and that we are actually in a very good friendship together.” And we were.   I wish I HAD been a childhood friend so I could have tasted her Mom's cooking & baking too! Especially back in Goose Village!   ? Marlene loved her daughters more than life itself!  - and her Sisters with such love belonging & love.  I took a photo during out last supper together…    with both agreed. It was a nice photo with such easy going pleasant feelings and lovely energy.   MY heart breaks to lose my dear friend.  I am devastated by life's cruel unfairness.  Marlene was so ‘IN her life' and it was finally only getting better and better… My heart goes out to The Family, Sisters & Kids, knowing how close and how loved she was…   I can't believe it's the past tense now.  - Marlene will always be My Good & Buddy & Friend. I couldn't go to either the Shiva nor the Funeral-  I've  been just so floored by her passing!  But I am certain that Heaven's gates welcomed her and that she will always watch over her daughters.
