Renate Ortner

Renate was the heart of our family — a devoted mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She was strong, caring, generous, and full of love. She had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel welcome, safe, and deeply cared for. Her unwavering love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her and will remain with us forever.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Nick Fritz, whom she missed dearly, her beautiful mother Omi and her cherished son, Walter Fritz, who predeceased her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Angelica and her partner Todd, her granddaughters Chelsey and Kylie and their partners Fred and Brandon, as well as her extended family, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives she touched so profoundly.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for the compassion, dignity, and exceptional care they provided Renate in her final days. Their kindness meant more to our family than words can express.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Saint John the Baptist, 233 Sainte-Claire Avenue, Pointe-Claire, Quebec.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Renate’s memory to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence and the Alzheimer’s Foundation through a GoFundMe set up by the family.
