Suddenly, after a long struggle with rheumatoid arthritis. She is survived by her three sisters Susan, Leslie (Larry), and Cathy (Greg); also her nieces Julie (Grant) and Lisa, and her nephew Richard. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Marie. Predeceased also by her long-time partner, Marc.
Robin grew up in Montreal West and graduated from Montreal West High School. She was classically trained in piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and proceeded to obtain a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University. She and her Dad shared a passion for music, which inspired a number of lively conversations about the subject. She coached and taught piano for more than 25 years, at Italmélodie and at Ecole de musique du Marché in Montreal and was a well-respected and professional teacher. She loved many different styles of music, including classical, jazz, boogie-woogie, country, folk, and more. She encouraged her students to play music that gave them joy and inspired them to continue to improve their skills. Robin was selfless and devoted to those she loved, caring for her increasingly ill partner for 30 years until his death in October, 2019. She also had a love for animals, and took exceptional care of a number of pet cats throughout the years.
Robin was able to spend her last Christmas in Calgary with her extended family, for which we will always be grateful.
