Roland Richard

Roland Richard had an early passion for music that would shape the course of his life. He transitioned from the spotlight as a singer and performer to a shining star behind the scenes, a stage manager—orchestrating the magical dance of artists, lights, sound and sets, that brought thousands of performances to life.

Roland gave himself wholeheartedly to his singers and acrobats, whom he loved dearly. He made sure that every performer he worked with always felt supported and understood, bar none. His infectious enthusiasm, encouraging presence, and genuine passion for his craft inspired those around him, fostering camaraderie far beyond the wings of the stage. His memory will live on by the many who learnt from him and amongst the many lives he touched.

As he now finds harmony on the big stage beyond, let us celebrate his unrelenting zest for life and zany sense of humour, and let these qualities forever carry us forward.

Roland leaves behind his brothers and sisters—Marielle Aucoin, Louis Richard, Carmen Doucet and Yves Richard. The interment of his ashes will be alongside his father and mother, France and Alice, and on the seaside at Cap Bimet, New Brunswick, which held a special significance in his heart.

Roland Richard, dès un jeune âge, a démontré une passion pour la musique qui façonnera le parcours de sa vie. Chanteur et interprète respecté et reconnu, il entamera une transition vers une carrière en tant que régisseur de plateau. Il brillait sur la scène comme dans les coulisses. Il orchestrait, en arrière-plan, des performances exaltantes de la part de chanteurs et d'acrobates qu'il aimait tant. Il créait une synergie entre les artistes, les jeux de lumière, le son et les décors, et cela pour des milliers de spectacles.

Roland s'est investi pleinement auprès des artistes. Il veillait ardemment à ce que chaque artiste, avec qui il travaillait, soit toujours bien compris et soutenu. Son enthousiasme contagieux, sa présence entraînante et sa passion indéniable pour son métier, inspiraient continuellement son entourage et incitaient la camaraderie allant bien au-delà des planches. Sa mémoire vivra grâce aux personnes qui ont eu le bonheur d’apprendre de Roland et d’être touchées par sa présence.

Bien qu'il retrouve l’harmonie sur la plus grande scène du Ciel, célébrons, avant tout, son inépuisable zeste pour la vie ainsi que son humour loufoque, des qualités qui teinteront à tout jamais notre parcours.

Roland laisse derrière lui ses frères et ses sœurs : Marielle Aucoin, Louis Richard, Carmen Doucet et Yves Richard. L'inhumation de ses cendres se fera aux côtés de son père et de sa mère, France et Alice, et au bord de la mer à Cap Bimet, au Nouveau-Brunswick ; un endroit qu’il affectionnait grandement.
