A graduate of Baron Byng High School and a two-time graduate of McGill University, Trudy was an advisor with Indigenous Access McGill and a project assistant with McGill's First Nations and Inuit Education Project.
Known for her kindness and open spirit, Trudy's career in social services, most of it spent with Batshaw Youth and Family Centres, began in 1970 and encompassed a variety of roles. She also served as director of religious education at the Unitarian Church of Montreal for seven years.
Trudy is survived by her beloved husband, John Heath; her son, Niall (Neda); her grandson, Liam; her sisters, Louise (Peter) and Valerie (Ivan); her brothers, Gordon and Stephen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Sheila; her nephew, Daniel Harrison; her parents, Sadie (née Marcovitch) and Peter; and her mother-in-law, Tennille Heath.
A celebration of Trudy's life will be held on June 29 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 5035 de Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Montreal.
