Angela Yip, 49, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Also affectionately known as Goojeh (“Auntie”) to her niece and nephew, Angela fought her battle against ovarian cancer with courage and humor for over five years. Despite spending much of that time in treatment, she never lost her joyful smile. She showed remarkable strength throughout her journey and took control of her passing with grace and dignity.
Angela was passionate about travel and food. She loved to travel and has visited every continent at least once; the Maldives was her favorite destination. Her love for food was unparalleled and when not eating or snacking, she would be baking, watching cooking shows, or searching online for some strange, exotic snack to satisfy her gustatory senses. She had too many favorite dishes to name, but her last meal request was a McFilet-O-Fish with fries and root beer which she thoroughly enjoyed 😊
During her final moments, Angela was with her close family; her mother Yuk Ying Lee, her brother Chi Fan and his family, Tess, Liem & Kai, her brother Andy (Tiana) and her uncle and aunt Daniel & Mimi. Angela’s spirit will live on in the thoughts and memories of her family, friends and colleagues. Preceding her in peace was her beloved father, Pak Ching.
We would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to the Oncology and Palliative team of the Jewish General Hospital, for the devoted care and compassion they have shown her and their tireless support throughout this difficult journey.
To honor Angela’s memory, a visitation will be held Saturday September 6, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges at 4525 Chemin de la Cote-des-Neiges, Montreal QC H3V 1E7. At 11:00 AM her ashes will be transported to her final resting place at Mount Royal Cemetary at 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont QC H2V 2P9; section C(2)-1930. Please join us for lunch at 2:00 PM at Restaurant Foo Lam 9394 l’Acadie Boulevard, Montreal QC H4N 3H1; kindly RSVP if you will attend or not via email to [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, Angela’s last wish was for her loved ones to support nature, specifically by planting trees. As such, please consider making a donation to https://treecanada.ca/montreal-urban-canopy-project/
