

Evelyn Mackey of Middletown, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was 83 years old.
Evelyn was born on May 2, 1931 in Clarkstown, NY to the late Herman Mann and Luella (nee Degraw). She worked for many years as a seamstress. Her true passion was her family. Evelyn loved to help care for her grandchildren, she was never known to them as Grandma always by her given nickname “Charlie Brown”. She used her sewing skills to make dolls and other crafts for her friends and family. She was a very social person; she loved to talk to everyone about what was going on in their lives, current events or whatever happened to be going on. She had the ability to make you feel comfortable and welcome in her home. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving children, Donna Mackey, Gloria Mackey, William Edward Mackey III, Robert Mackey, Charles Mackey and Bernadine Ogden; caring brothers and sisters, Harold Mann, Donald Mann, Joseph Mann, Mary Crawford, Bernice Mackey and Shirley Crawford; beloved grandchildren, Ed, Steve, AnnMarie, Brian, Rob, Jim, Lisa, Jamie, Bill, Dave, Laura, Christopher, Brian, Scott and Vicki; 31 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William Edward Mackey II in 1983, four sisters Lillian Lombardo, Pearl Mann, Olive Stalter, and Hazel Pellew, and three brothers Irving Mann, Leslie Mann and Robert Mann.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21st at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY from 10 AM to 12:00PM. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.
