Helen Josephine Salmon

Helen Josephine Salmon, age 87, of Cortlandt Manor, New York passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Helen was born to William and Margaret (McGoey) Harkin on March 16, 1935 in Ireland. Helen married her loving husband William P. Salmon on May 19, 1962. They were married for 55 years before William’s passing in August 2017. Helen was a member of the Cortlandt Seniors. She was an avid exerciser, loving yoga and line dancing. Helen loved spending time with her grandkids most of all.

Helen is the beloved mother of Stephen Salmon (Linda), Billy Salmon (Robin), and Christine Ellis (Terry Ellis), adored grandmother to Nicole Mary Newman (RJ) and Stephen Salmon Jr., Braden and Shannon Mary Ellis, and Lauren and Amanda Salmon, caring sister to Mary Gorman, Bernie Healy (James Healy), Joanie McDonnell (Chris McDonnell), Margaret Banks (Mickey Banks), John Harkin (Patricia), Jimmy Harkin (Shelia). Along with her husband William, Helen is predeceased by her daughter Mary Salmon, brother Martin Harkin and brother-in-law Raymond Gorman.

A visitation for Helen will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 4 -7 PM at Edward F. Carter, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, New York 10548. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:15 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompond Road, Cortlandt, NY 10567 with burial to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, 1201 Balcom Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465.
