Irene "Omie" Burecky Jacoby

Irene "Omie" Jacoby, 98, of Brentwood Independent Living, Lecanto, Florida, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016. Born Aug. 13, 1917 in Peekskill, New York, daughter and one of three children to Charles and Mary (Shock) Borecky. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Jim Jacoby, in 2010 , two siblings, Charlie Borecky and Florence McGuire and by granddaughter Jennifer Jacoby. Irene moved to Citrus County ten years ago and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills, FL and is survived by son Jay Jacoby (wife Lorraine), Crystal River, FL; daughter Jeri Brown (husband Gary), Peekskill, NY; son Jon Jacoby (wife Patty), Montrose, NY; grandchildren Jill, Jeffrey, Jerrod, Christopher, Michael, Jeffrey and Jason and ten great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, New York on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 2 - 4PM. A burial of ashes will take place 10AM on Monday, March 14th at Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, New York.
