Jack A. Hicks

Mr. Jack Allan Hicks, age 86 of Conyers, GA died Thursday, December 15, 2016. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1930 to Lyle and Anna Marie Hicks. His family moved to Peekskill, NY in 1941. He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1948 and worked in Offenbachers from 1948 to 1951. Jack joined the Marine Corps in 1951. Sergeant Hicks married Helen Lorraine Biamonte in 1952 and went to work for General Motors in 1955. He had a 30-year career with GM and retired as General Foreman, Quality Inspection and Production in 1985. He was a commercial fisherman on the Hudson River in New York. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Stephen) Mockler of Columbia, TN and Diane (David) Fay of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Mockler, Port Orchard, WA, Shawn Mockler, Dickson, TN, Daniel Fay, Denver, CO, Derrick Fay, Conyers, GA; and 2 great-grandchildren from Christopher and Russanne Mockler, Michael and Jenavieve. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 10 am to 12 noon with a Prayer Service at noon at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, NY. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
