

James H. Bleakley Jr. (PoP) 76 a resident of Buchanan, NY passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side May 19, 2017. Born February 10, 1941 in Verplanck, NY to the late James and Margret (Carey) Bleakley. James is survived by his children Fred (Lura) Bleakley, Tim Bleakley and predeceased by his loving son Glenn Bleakley. Also survived by brothers Mike (Ronnie) Bleakley, Richard (Shirley), Albert, Bobby, sisters Rose (Paul) and Margie (Mike) Downes. Grandson Derek Bleakley, granddaughter Brittany Bleakley and many more grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jimmy, Pam and Greg. James worked as a General Foreman for the Town of Cortlandt Water Dept. for 44 years. He also operated Hudson River Equipment Co. Inc. for 30 years. James loved to work. James was a commercial fisherman on The Hudson River. James Bleakley (PoP) will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY on Tuesday May 23, 2017 from 3-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, May 24th at St. Patrick Church in Verplanck. Private cremation to follow.
