

James (Jim) grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens. After graduating from High School, he joined the US Army and served from 1954 until 1957. After serving in the Army, Jim became a manager for the F.W. Woolworth Company and later a salesman for a home and garden company. He shortly became the president for this company. After a few years, he decided to create his own business as a manufacturer’s rep which he enjoyed great success. When he retired, he decided to keep himself busy by driving for a few limousine companies. He continued that up until the very end.
Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife, and together they explored many parts of the world. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim was an avid sports fan. He was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and has been since he was a young boy. He loved to go to Yankee games with his family. He also loved the New York Giants. He enjoyed his teams even more when they won.
What Jim loved most was spending time with his grandchildren and all of his family.
James is survived by his beloved children Jeffrey Cochrane (Mary), James Cochrane (Hope), Tracy Bruce, cherished grandchildren Christopher and Shannon Cochrane, and Robert and Jennifer Bruce, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. James was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Cochrane, Son-in-Law David Bruce, and by his brothers William and Thomas Cochrane. James was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all.
