Steven I. Fields, a resident of Montrose, NY, passed away on April 16, 2026. He was 77 years old. Steven was born on September 15, 1948 in Long Island, NY to George and Patricia (Saunders) Fields. Before his retirement, he worked for many years as an Operations Manager for National Security Services in Bronx, NY. A big personality with a big heart, he put his family first and never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandsons Nathan and Lucas. A kid at heart, he was a coach for youth sports and never missed one of his grandson’s sports games. He loved betting horses at Saratoga with his beloved wife, Hanna. He brought love and laughter to anyone lucky enough to know him. His quick wit and sarcasm will be missed (by most).
He is survived by his son Jason and his wife Ida; his grandsons Nathan and Lucas; his sister-in-law Lori and two nieces Jennifer and Amanda.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Hanna of 53 years and his brother Michael.
A celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, April 24th from 4-8pm at Edward F Carter funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to The Center for Discovery, PO Box 840, Harris, NY 12742 or Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation, 8 Sorrento Drive, Osprey, FL 34229.
