

Theresa was born in the Bronx, New York, and later moved to Westchester County, New York, where she resided with her husband Edmund and their four children.
Theresa devoted her life to raising her family. She is survived by her husband Edmund Joseph Cocozza of 62 years; her daughter AnneMarie Vaughn and her husband Michael of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; her son, Edmund Daniel Cocozza and his wife Kristi of Rome, Italy; her son Francis Cocozza and his wife Laura of Lake George, NY; her son Daniel Cocozza of Queens, NY; and her 8 grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sister Carmela O’Neil, and her brothers Frank Molinari and Anthony Molinari.
Theresa met her husband, Edmund, in high school at Saint Simon Stock in the Bronx, New York, and were married for 62 years. Early in life, Theresa worked as a supervisor at New York Telephone, and later in life as a teacher’s assistant and district clerk at Hendrick Hudson School District for approximately 20 years. She was also a religious education instructor and lector at St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church.
Her faith in God and her family were at the center of her life. She will be remembered for her devotion and love to her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Her incredible sense of humor and wit will be sorely missed, as will her amazing cooking skills.
The family will receive visitors at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, New York, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 3 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 24th at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Ossining, New York. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Saint Francis Breadline, www.stfrancisbreadline.org, in honor of Theresa Cocozza.
