Theresa Jessup

Theresa Jessup of Montrose, NY, passed away at home with her son by her side. She was 93 years old. Theresa was born on January 5, 1931 to the late Joseph and Mary (Ruck) Kilzer in Bronxville, NY. She was one of five children all of them have predeceased her.

Theresa was an accomplished pianist and was offered a full scholarship to the Julliard School at a young age, but turned down the offer to raise a family. She loved to figure skate and was very accomplished at it. She also lived to hike, play tennis, swim and garden. She was a kind woman and will be deeply missed.

Theresa is survived by her devoted son, Raymond Morris, who cared for her over the past 30 years; sons and daughters, Sheila Truelove, Dianna Morris, David Morris and Ginny Rzekonski; grandchildren, Rebecca Andrews, Hannah Haggerty, Kathe Grasso, Rob Bijesse, Simon Truelove, Matthew Truelove, Jennifer Pena and Elizabeth Morris and her great grandchildren, Annalise and Andrew Haggerty, Aiden and Chase Haggerty, Eleanora and Adalia Haggerty, Lyla, Josh and Christopher Truelove, Sebashan and George Truelove and Gabrielle and Lillian Pena.

Besides her seven siblings she was predeceased by her husband Douglas Jessup on May 4, 1995.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.
