In childhood I was lucky enough to befriend Hope. The Willard house is behind the one I lived in and they welcomed me into their home to spend time with Hope. I have always admired Mr. and Mrs. Willard for the way they raised their daughters and how evident their love for them is. I never imagined Dennis and Janet anywhere but in that house together. He is remembered as the kindest man, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Dennis was a steady and kind presence in both my husband Eloy's work life and mine.  For close to 25 years, he led with quite strength, honor and integrity-qualities that made him not just a respected workmate, but a good person in general.  His passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

To his family, especially Janet, his wife, please know that we hold you close in thought and prayer.  May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and peace in the legacy Dennis leaves behind.

The first time I met Dennis he put poop on my desk. It wasn't for me, it was for his daughter sharing my classroom. He was very sweet to make sure I didn't think the poop was for me. 
I could tell right away he was a great dad.  Having already known Janet and his oldest daughter, I could tell they had a wonderful home and all the women in his life grew up super loved. I can't imagine what It's like to lose such a huge piece of your lives. My love goes out to all of you wonderful women and his many grand children. 

Did I mention the poop was fake?

Janet I am so sorry for your loss. We have known each other for over 30 years and I had the chance to meet Dennis on several occasions, he was a wonderful man.  I know your faith and family will be there to support you, but please remember you were always there for me and if there is anything you need please let me know. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dennis, or Deni back in high school was known to me as a nice and kind soul. We shared french class at Walnut High. Later we shared mutual friends and a winter trip to Big Bear Lake in Dad's camper.  Unfortunately, I lost touch with Dennis but saw him on Facebook here and there which was nice. I pray for peace and comfort for his family. Rest in peace Dennis.

Words escape me but I’ll try…. Your entire family has practically been a part of mine for 20 years. The love that radiates from your family always made me happy whenever I felt down. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your sweet husband and father.  I have wonderful memories of him working in my classroom and talking about each of the girls.  He was so proud of each daughter and the fact that each of them came to our on campus preschool.  Janet, you were the glue that kept VVHS running for so many years.
