

Dorit Johnson-Hansley daughter of the late Bennie and Mable Jonhson. Dorit or Dee Dee as we know her, was born on February 24, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. Dee Dee attended St. Lawrence Elementary and graduated from St. Matthias High School. Dee Dee had an extraordinary work ethic.
She worked as an administrative assistant at UCLA for nearly twenty years. While working, she attended California State University of Fullerton where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Child Development in 1991. Upon retiring in 2001 Dee Dee found a second career where she could bring her wealth of experience and devotion to molding young people and began working with troubled youths throughout the Inland Empire. She had a nurturing soul and a caring spirit that connected with them.
Dee Dee was an exceptional cook, you could always find her cooking a good meal for friends and family. When she wasn't cooking, Dee Dee enjoyed traveling, shopping and gardening. She also loved taking the grandkids out and spending time with them. She was a loving and devoted mother, known for her tough love and unwavering support. Her warmth made everyone feel at home and her love knew no lim-its. But she was also feisty and full of life, never afraid to speak her mind or stand up for what she believed in. She loved fiercely, loved a great time with family and brought energy and passion to everything she did. Her strength was as much part of her tenderness, and she leaves behind her legacy of love, resilience and an unshakable spirit. Dee Dee was a friend to many, a NaNa to all and a mother figure to every-one who crossed her path.
On Wednesday January 22, 2025, in Moreno Valley, California. Dee Dee transitioned peacefully to enjoy her eternal life. Rejoining in heaven with her brother Augustus Johnson and daughter Anayia Hansley. She leaves to cherish her legacy and special memories are her children Jevonnie Cotte-Martin with her husband Christopher Martin of California, and son Christopher Hansley Jr. of North Carolina. Dee Dee’s loving grandchildren consist of Christopher Martin Jr.’CJ’ and Cassidy Martin. Dee Dee also leaves to cherish in her memory a sister Delphine Bell from Missouri, two nephews David Clark and Roosevelt Clark; Great nephews Aariq Clark and a Great niece Kimberly Clark. A niece, Celeste Johnson from Los Angeles, CA and a Great nephew Bravion C. Bailey.
