With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, JoAnn Beverly Martin Wilson, who peacefully departed from this world on April 18, 2024, after a life rich with love and purpose. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
JoAnn was cherished by many and held a special place in the hearts of her friends, community, and family. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, she was a proud graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1958. In pursuit of her dreams, she embarked on a journey to California in 1962, where she found her true home. JoAnn furthered her education at San Bernardino State University, laying the foundation for a career dedicated to serving others with compassion and wisdom.
For decades, JoAnn selflessly served as a counselor at the California School for the Deaf in Riverside, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives until her well-deserved retirement. Alongside her cherished husband, Lawrence Wilson, she shared 47 years of unwavering love and devotion. JoAnn found solace and joy in tending to her garden and mastering the art of cooking, passions that brought warmth and nourishment to those around her.
Her legacy of love extends beyond her immediate family, as she touched the lives of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and countless friends and acquaintances who were blessed to know her. JoAnn's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she served as a shining example of God's unwavering grace and devotion.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Rena and Fred Beverly, Sr., and her beloved sisters, Rena Beverly, Paula Beverly, and Faye Evans. She is survived by her adoring children, Keith Martin and Kecia Moeshenko, and her cherished siblings, Jill Beverly, Theresa Beverly, Deborah Beverly, Fred Beverly, Jr., and Timothy Beverly.
To honor JoAnn's remarkable life, a memorial service will be held at Perris Valley Cemetery, 915 North Perris Blvd, Perris, California 92571, on May 21 at 1 pm. Your presence and support during this time of remembrance would be deeply appreciated as we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
