I will always cherish these last times together. We had some of your favorite meals, desserts, colored, played games, and talked as much as possible. My favorite memory is watching the day break together at 5:00 a.m. in silence while sharing coffee. We just took in the view and enjoyed each other's company. I'm thankful for you mom.

Your wonderful neighbors cared and added much goodness to your life and ours. Jose, Cindy, and Virginia and her family visited often. They brought food, love, help, and good conversation. While I was visiting they helped me so much as I was limited in what I could do physically (broken hip still healing). They took out the trash, did laundry, cleaned, visited often, and were even there for me after you passed. Jose and  Cindy came over and stayed with me after you passed until the wee hours of the morning, until the coroner was finished processing everything. They will never know how much this meant to me. Virginia, her daughter, and grandson took me to the airport and out to lunch and we are still in contact today!

My deepest condolences to you Diana and family.  Betty was my neighbor for the last ten years ,she was always welcoming and happy to see you.I will always admire her work ethic and peaceful outlook on life ,never once did she ever complain or have anything negative to say.I can only pray that I too can be as independent and outgoing into my later years .She was truly blessed and will be missed by many.

This a one of the few pictures I have of the family all together (top: Joe, Bill Jr. Bottom: Diana, Mom, Dad, Mary) . My two brothers (Joe, Bill Jr.) came all the way from Washington state and Kansas to visit. They are both deceased now. Mary and I both lived in California at the time. Of course there was Mary's husband and children and my brother's wonderful wives and children too. There was much laughter, good food, and visiting, but the intention of the picture was to show the  nuclear family. We love you mom!

I still remember 2016 or 2017 when we visited my grandma Josephine. She always went out of her way to make sure that we were having “fun”. She never worried too much about making sure that her personal needs were met but thought about the needs of everyone else when we visited. She didn’t have much money, but she would give generously to all of her daughters and grandchildren without counting the cost. We had such fun on that visit! I was adjusting to my new life as a college freshman struggling in my classes and with a deep personal spiritual crisis. Yet it was such a joy to be able to take time off to enjoy and explore the best that Southern California had to offer with my mom and dad. It’s hard to believe how much has changed these last 9 or 10 years. Given the rather spartan non materialistic approach to life I became accustomed to as the daughter of a schoolteacher my late decision to pursue theological/ministry studies as a Catholic catechist and lay minister makes more sense. I remember that visit to Disneyland arranged by grandma as one of my rare moments where I could enjoy exploring Disneyland with my Mom and Dad from the beginning of the morning until the fireworks at the end of the night. It was hard to be around so many people, but there were so many interesting rides and exhibits. I remember being unexpectedly scared going through the Haunted House exhibit. I remember dad and I discussing/debating the origin of the Teacups song and his excitement for showing me the Disneyland Express Train Ride and the Space themed ride. All of this was very enjoyable for me because it was completely new! I had never been to an amusement park before. Most of all I remember contemplating that night what role if any God would have in my future.

I am sad that you never had a chance to grow up in the care of these fine parents as they died when you were very young. They would have been proud of the way you loved and cared for your family.

Margaret, Josephine, and Mary (in bed); the trio of sisters! You were the last to join them in heaven.  You remained in contact throughout your entire life. Aunt Margaret, mom, and Aunt Mary pray for us.

Enjoy the people in your lives while they are still with you. This is the lesson we learned from you.

When we think of you, we always think of dad too. Your marriage was a living testament.

It took a whole summer to make these and many unseen memories.

In high school, my sister, friends, and I all square danced with mom and dad. It connected us with the community and each other. Mom, you will always be in my heart.

Betty was a wonderful neighbor and friend .  A loving mother and grandmother she alway made sure everyone was taking care of .  She loved kids .  She was 97 years old on this picture.  We are going to miss her.  She was so joyful and always so happy to see us .
