

Onesimo was born in the city of Canatlán, Durango, Mexico on February 16, 1932, to David and Anita De La Rosa. He was one of seven children.
In the early 1950s, Onesimo came to California as a migrant worker in the Bracero Program. In 1962, he moved his wife Lucia and children Lorenzo, Socorro, Estella, Irma, and Onesimo from Mexico to California, where his craft of masonry work began alongside his brother Fernando. His work can be seen throughout Orange County, Ca. In his later years, he helped his son Lorenzo with countless masonry projects all over Riverside County, Ca.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Lucia De La Rosa, and his children Lorenzo, Socorro, Estella, Irma, Onesimo, Joel, and Adam, and he has joined his son Efren in Heaven. Onesimo leaves behind a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Onesimo was a hard-working family man, whose main goal was to provide for his family.
A visitation for Onesimo will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 4268 Lime ST, Riverside, CA 92501. A mass service will occur Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4268 Lime St., Riverside, CA 92501. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869.
