Osie Sumlin was called home on Tuesday November 22, 2022.She was the Daughter of late Mary Hart. She was born on February 1, 1947 in a small town called Elaine, Arkansas. She was Proceeded in death by her great grandmother, great grandfather, her grandmother Lillian James, her grandfather Owen James, her late husband Johnny Sumlin, and stepson Johnny Sumlin Jr. She was also preceded in death by her great granddaughter Aaliyah Felder. Osie grew up in Elaine, Arkansas and later as an young adult moved to Buffalo, New York where she met and married Johnny Sumlin. She became a nurse at the age of 19 and worked as an RN for 15 years. During that time she Birthed seven wonderful children. She later moved to Southern California to join her late grandmother Lillian James and Owen James. She would eventually retire from being an RN in Southern California and continue to raise her seven children. She enjoyed reading and watching sports. She loved the Los Angeles Lakers and would tune in to watch the Chicago Bears one of her favorite football teams. November was her favorite month because it meant she was starting a new chapter in her life, and the holidays were coming to bring the whole family together. Cooking was one of her favorite things to do during birthday's and holiday's. She would call everyone about baking pies and making arrangements for the festivities that were about to take place.Many would agree that the food she cooked was beyond delicious especially her sweet potato pies, her crackling corn bread and, her many different soup dishes. She would invite people over to eat or surprise them with their favorite dishes for their birthday. It was a joy for her to cook for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved Fishing on the lake and in the ocean it was one of her favorite things to do. She also loved sewing and knitting. She loved making clothes for her grandchildren. It was one of her joys, to knit hats, mittens, shoes and blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends (who would usually end up becoming extended family to her and the rest of the family).he is survived by her children. Velma Williams, Leroy Sumlin, Lillie Sumlin, Alonzo Sumlin Sr., Shirley Sumlin, Arnold Sumlin Sr. and Natasha Sumlin. She is also,survived by1•.. her four siblings, Jaime Lee Hart, James E. Hart, Mae Reed and Mark Hart Jr.
