Aunt Shirley thank you for being there for me always. From teaching me the proper way to grate cheese. To being the surprise birthing coach at your great nephew's birth. We were just really getting to know you. 

You will be loved and missed.

This is my last picture of Shirley taken in August when I visited her. I have so many memories of Shirley. Shirley was my daughters grandmother, and she loved her fiercely. She was Emilie's biggest fan. To her she could do no wrong. My mother died when I was six years old so Shirley was Emilies only grandmother. And I am so thankful for her in our lives. Shirley went with me to all of Emilie's school events. She was always there, usually just her and I. Shirley would let Emilie spend the night so mom could have a night off. Before Emilie could write she would have her tell her stories and she would write them down and have Emilie draw a picture of the story. And then give them to me when I picked her up. She always tried to feed me and make us take food home. She always tried to give me money even though she didn't have much. She was one of the most generous and kind people I have ever met and she will be missed forever. Rest in peace my dear friend ❤️

Over the years Shirley has always been the same, kind, unassuming and gracious. She was able to meet people where they were in their lives, without judgement.  She loved her family with a ferocity, husband Larry, her children, with a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren.  Proverbs 31: 10, 27, 28 and 29: "For who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. She looketh well to the ways of the household and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all". Shirley we will miss your love, laughter and bright smile. Sis, see you in Paradise!
