Willie Lee Johnson

Welcome to the Celebration of Life for Willie Lee Johnson the son of Willie and Isilee Brown. Willie was born on February 9th, 1943 in Jefferson, Alabama. Willie is the older brother to Isaac Johnson, and they grew up together in Rockford, Illinois.

Willie joined the Air Force directly after high school and began his military service. He traveled the world in his duties and met and married the love of his life Mary Carr in Edinburgh, Scotland. They had three children Vern, Colette, and Marsha who adored him. After he retired from the military, Willie started a new career with State Fund Compensation where he was a Claims Manager. He built long lasting friendships with co-workers that lasted more than 30 years.

After Willie's beloved wife Mary passed in March 2007, Willie spent most of his days with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Willie leaves behind his children Vern, Colette, and Marsha and his grandkids Lavelle, Daven, Saniyya, and Taylor and his great grandkids Cole and Mila, granddaughter-in-law-Theresa, his brother Isaac and his sister-in-law Vivian and a host of nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Willie will be greatly missed by those that loved him but he will always be remembered as the amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that he was.
