

Barbara Ann was born to the late Lula Bell Brown Scott Avery and William Raymond Scott. on December 23, 1945. in Burke County.
Barbara Ann graduated from Olive Hill High School in 1964, and was also a member of Gaston Chapel AME Church. She worked as a supervisor at Dana Corporation for over 20 years, and at Catawba Valley Medical Services as a healthcare worker for 10 years
She loved going to the beach, fishing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved the Christmas holiday season, cooking, gardening, and dancing. She had an infectious laugh, and was the life of the party.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her lifetime companion Gene Houpe, brother Robert L Scott, her four beautiful daughters Myra Moore, Michelle Scott, Malina Scott, and Melissa Scott, grandchildren Antoinette, Barbara, Stacey, Jamario, Javon, Jarell, Jalen, and Zuri, great-grandson Jaden, her fur baby Scooby, and many close friends. Barbara was not only the mother to her daughters, she also had a number of bonus daughters that called her mom.
Funeral Services for Barbara Ann Scott will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 05, 2022, in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery. Apostle Alice Faye Reese Miller officiating.
