Bill Edward Freeman

A native of Avery County he was born May 28, 1934 to the late Jessie Freeman and Pearl Holtsclaw Freeman.

He was a devout Christian, and a Deacon of Bible Missionary Baptist Church of Morganton, NC. He enjoyed working on old Mustangs, fishing and being with his family, he was a friend who could always be counted upon.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Baynard Freeman of the home; his sons David Edward Freeman and wife Sandra of Cornelius, NC and Joseph Allen Freeman and wife Julie of Greenville, SC.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cameron Scott Freeman, Elizabeth Jo Freeman, Jason Edward Freeman and his wife Anita, Melissa Anna Renae Freeman; step grandchildren Jason Lee Sides and wife Jennifer and Carrie Elizabeth Sides; great grandchildren Abigail and Caleb; step- great grandchildren Christan, Kalie and Jessica.

He is also survived by his sister Shirley Warren and husband Steve of Morganton and brothers Jimmy Freeman and wife Ella of Newland, Junior Freeman and wife Patsy of Bakersville, and Pete Freeman and wife Charlotte of Elk Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6PM-8PM at Bible Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral Services for Mr. Freeman will be conducted Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00AM at Bible Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Ricky Watkins, Reverend Bob Vance and Reverend Luther Carver officiating.

Interment will follow at church cemetery.
