Blanche Belle Swink Smith

She was born May 31, 1916, in Rutherfordton County to the late James and Gertude Sheppherd Swink.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Smith; her daughters, Evelyn Jordon and Rosa Lee Smith; brothers Grady Swink and Roy Swink; her sisters Ema Gray, Minnie Keeter, and Missy Roper; and a grandson Dale Clark.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Clark and husband, Roger of Newland, Edna Sinclair and husband, Wylie of Columbia SC, Ruby Epley and Mozelle Sheehan, both of Morganton; a sister Clara Mae McCurry; a son-in-law Carl Jordon; 18 Grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren; 9 Great- Great Grandchildren and special friends Eva Carpenter and Mary Bollingers.

Mrs. Smith loved to listen to gospel and bluegrass music. She will be missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 5-7PM at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton.

Funeral Services will be held at 7PM, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Gragg officiating.

Mrs. Smith will lie in state Friday, March 5, 2010 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church from 1-2 PM.

Graveside Service will be at 2PM at Church Cemetery
