Brenda Jean Tallent Hunt

Mrs. Brenda Jean Tallent Hunt, age 53, of Nebo, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born on January 24, 1959 in Lenoir to Pete Henry Tallent and Vivian Bertha Stamey Tallent. Brenda was a member of the McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church, and she loved praising her Lord and Savior. She was an English Instructor at Western Piedmont Community College. Brenda enjoyed singing and playing guitar, and was a member of the Tallent Family Gospel Group. She loved cats, especially Little Bit, Miss Kitty, Sheeba, Ticker and Boots. Brenda was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Brenda will be greatly missed.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Pete Henry Tallent, a brother-in-law, Rev. Steve Chapman and a sister-in-law, Sherry Tallent.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 29 years, Donny Hunt of the home; her mother, Vivian Tallent Browning and her husband, Paul of Morganton; a son, Jamie S. Hunt and his wife, Tiffany of Nebo; a daughter Jennifer Marie Webb and her husband, David of Morganton; two brothers, Gary L. Tallent of Morganton and Jeff C. Tallent and his wife, Janet of Glen Alpine; two sisters, Debbie Tallent Mathis and her husband, Rev. Doug Mathis of Hemingway, SC and Rhonda Tallent Chapman of Morganton; two grandchildren, Ashley Marie and Trevor Daniel Webb of Morganton; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Jim Hunt of Lake James; two brother-in-laws, Steve Hunt and his wife, Gilda of Shelby and Scott Hunt and his wife, Sherry of Nebo; and a niece, Amy Miller and her husband, Cameron Miller of Nebo. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Nowlings Chapel Free-Will Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug Mathis, Alan Carr, and Dennis Carswell officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Reverend Chris Todd officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. at Nowlings Chapel Free-Will Baptist Church before the service.
