Charlotte Ray Harding Davis

Charlotte Ray Harding Davis, 72, known as Chibby Ray by her family, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Albany, Ga.

Born July 11, 1944, in Lenoir, NC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Harding and Jessie Pauline Lowery Harding of Morganton, NC. Charlotte worked at Mitchell County Elementary, in Camilla, GA, for more than twenty years, as a Reading teacher. She worked alongside her husband of fifty-five years, Rev. George Walton Davis, Sr., at the Camilla Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Carolyn Gene Harding and her brother, Theodore Roosevelt Hutchins.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. George W. Davis, Sr., of Camilla, Ga.; her son, Rev. George W. Davis, II (Rebecca) of NC; her daughters, Sabra Eugenia (Mark) Daniel of NC, Rhonda Gay (Robert) Williams of Camilla, Ga., Shannon Alexa (Dwight) Marsh of Reidsville, NC, and Jimmie Charlynn (Charles) Vinson of Valdosta, GA; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM, at Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, NC, with Brother Edward Lee Peach and Brother William H. Preskitt officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Morganton.
