Clifford Oliver Walker

Clifford Oliver Walker, age 64, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born the son of the late Walter Thomas Walker and Eunice Smith Walker on December 1, 1949 in Burke County.

Clifford was of the Baptist faith, and an avid NASCAR fan. He loved to talk about racing. Clifford was a loving brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Clifford is preceded in death by three brothers, Troy, James and Carl Walker.

Those left behind to cherish Clifford’s memory include three brothers, William Walker, Earl Walker and his wife, Mary and Howard Walker and his wife, Linda, all of Morganton; a sister, Janice Hemphill of Morganton; and a special friend and caregiver, Joe Patton of Morganton.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2014 in the Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the South Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
