David Banks McDaniels

David Banks McDaniels, age 65, of Glen Alpine, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2nd 2011. David was born the son of Millard Banks and Nadine Letner Banks on July 31st 1945 in Burke County. David was of the Baptist Faith, and had a passion for fishing. He was a gifted musician, being able to play many different types of instruments. David loved his family. He was kind, gentle, compassionate and generous. David will be greatly missed.

Along with his father, David is preceded in death by a son, Shannon David McDaniels.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 37 years, Ursula McDaniels of the home; his mother, Nadine Orders of Glen Alpine; a very special son, Lee Wilson of Hickory; two brothers, James McDaniels and his wife, Shirley, and Gary Orders, all of Glen Alpine; a sister, Marie Avery and her husband, Elmer of Morganton; and a special niece, Melissa Farris Ollis and her husband, Tom of Morganton. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 5th 2011 at Mt. View #2 Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
