

Edith’s greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also cared dearly for more than 100 children for which she babysat in her home for over 30 years. Edith also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and helping others.
Along with her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Kenneth Alvin Brandon; a sister, Bonnie Ramsey; and a brother, Ronald Lunsford.
Those left behind to cherish Edith’s memory include a son, Benny (Alvin) Brandon and wife Diane of Salisbury; a daughter, Jane Jackson of Morganton; six grandchildren, Cindy Boger and her husband Dale of Hickory, Jeffrey Brandon and his wife Denise of Boone, Annette Abernathy and her husband Jamie of Hickory, Susan McClellan of Charlotte, Joseph Farris and his wife Carolyn of Asheville, and Nikki Lackey and her husband Jered of Maiden. Edith is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Further surviving is her faithful spoiled rotten canine “Ross” which she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Andy Parkey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
