

Edna Elizabeth Bristol Abernathy Jackson Harbison Moore, 90, of Morganton answered the call of her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 05, 2020 at Burke Hospice. Liz, as she was fondly called was born May 12, 1930 to the Rev. Frank S. Abernathy and Hattie Bristol Jenkins in Burke Co. North Carolina.
Liz was a graduate of Olive Hill High School, and a longstanding member of Slades Chapel AME Zion Church where she was apart of many different organizations, and earned many awards and plaques. Liz won mother of the year in 1998 she was a member of the gospel and senior choir, missionary, usher board, christian education, deaconess, lay council, and stewardess board. Liz also taught sewing with arts and craft classes for Western Piedmont Community College for many years, Liz was also a lifetime member of the NAACP, Order of The Eastern Stars, The Golden Circle, The Daughter of Isis, and The Bethune's Women's Civic Club.
In addition to her parents Liz is preceded in death by her husbands Brodus Jackson, Charles (Sug) Harbison, and William (Reese) Moore, sons; Carl Jackson, Michael Ray Jackson, brothers; Charles Wilkins, George Jenkins, Jim Wilkins, and sister, Mary (Ma/Sis) McKession.
Those left to cherish Liz's memory are a daughter; Mary Lynette Corpening (Lander), sons; James Jackson, and Roger Jackson, grandchildren; Michael Lynn "Chip" Lewis, Miranda Elizabeth Jackson, and Brodus (BJ) Jackson, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and hosts of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Heavenly Father take my hands I'm ready to leave this place to join my family, I'm ready to go to my permanent home.
