Elizabeth Ann Wilson King

Elizabeth Ann King, age 66, of Glen Alpine, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16th 2011. She was born the daughter of the late Carl Ben Wilson and Margaret Isabel Wilson McPeters on April 6th 1944 in Yancey County. Elizabeth was of the Baptist Faith, and enjoyed her family and gardening. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Jack” Jennings King.

Those left behind to cherish Elizabeth’s memory include a daughter, Shelia Byrd of Glen Alpine; a son, Russell Byrd of Glen Alpine; a grandson, Christopher Hanna of Glen Alpine; a great grandson, Slade Christopher Hanna; and five sisters, Beulah Blankship and her husband, Alton, Wanda Long and her husband, William, Joyce Hollifield and her husband, Tom, all of Marion, Jewell Owens and her husband, David, of Rutherfordton, and Carleen Wilson Martsolf and her husband Brian of Charlotte. She is also survived by numerous niece, nephews, other relative and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 18th 2011 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Long officiating.
